Not sure if this helps anyone but my second key was dead and wouldn’t recharge.
I bought a new replacement rechargeable battery bmw button sticker and new fob, cut open old fob to take circuit out, melted solder for battery and pulled off, pushed new battery in holes and bent ends then re soldered, put back in new case and pushed together then stuck bmw sticker on and put the door blade in the new fob. All works perfectly now, cost £12 😎 :coolsteer)

Just use a sharp knife to cut open of one, start with taking blade out and slice through bit that sticks up first then cut round

Thanks bud, parts ordered.

I'm not a natural bay'er, theres almost too much choice, whichoneissit ?

Tap the 3 dots, tap share, and you can copy the links. Here they are if others are looking . . .

Thanks for your help, top man !

I'm also aware my solder sucker has lost suction decades ago, replacement is £4.62, right, I'll have one of those too . . .

Still better than what BMW quoted me for a replacement key fob . . .

Thank you @Corky999 - all sorted now. As easy as you said . . .

Well . . . Splitting apart their flippen key fob was the hardest thing. I think it was glued with superglue (mutters) . . .

But it does come apart, battery does need to be desoldered, but apart from that, nothing complicated . . .
