Renewal time again and my existing broker's renewal was only £210 this year with agreed value of £16K (set last year as maximum without a full valuation certificate). I recently had a valuation completed by BMWCC which would have meant my existing broker would have increased the premium to £295 with excess increased from £250 to £350.
So shop around time, tried Footman James site, completed the full on-line application (which took a while) only to be given message on completion that a quote couldn't be given as I had put modifications (slightly wider tyres & a strut brace), ring the office next day to discuss. Didn't bother!!
Did the same with Manning (company Stacey works for), filled in the on-line application with same modifications, message - Thank you for your request for quotation, some one will call you tomorrow to discuss.
Result was next day they rang and gave me a quote using the new agreed value for £245 including free track day cover. Very pretty pleased with that.
Just got the confirmation of acceptance from Manning after sending photographs, certificate etc.
It pays to shop around.
