Have this a go while I'm swapping out the interiors in the z3s.
It's far from perfect but for a first try I think it's ok.
Any tips from people who have mastered This?

isopropyl alcohol is a must and do it on a hot day, and a heat gun is always handy and the craft single sided razor blades are helpful and a pin to pop any stubborn air bubbles and a credit card with a corner filed to make it thinner at the edge to poke it down into places :) that's all I can think of for now :)

I did use a heat gun and tried stretching it in places which did remove some air pockets. It's just fiddly around some areas. I've ordered a surgical blade which should tidy up the cuts since I had to use scissors

I was watching something the other day and they were professionals doing wrap and they peeled off half the backing and stuck the middle on first then smoothed to the outside then peeled off the rest of the backing and moved outwards again so that they started in the middle and that kinda makes sense now i'm thinking about it, and always use good quality like 3M as the difference in quality can be shocking

This is a job I want to do on my car as I have a scratch on my console (from previous owner) and I've looked at couple of threads on here about carrying out the work.
Hope maybe you can get to next Champs meeting in October so I could have a chat with you about removing the console to work on it.

Decent vinyl is a must

3M stuff was the only one that worked for me and looks decent.

I've done a lot of hydro dipping and that's really the best way forward.

If.your going to wrap, check out MDP SUPPLIES, they sell different vinyls for wrapping, I use them a lot now.

And use a heat gun and don't be scared, but remember, like painting, success is all down to the preparation.

Sorry if I'm being dumb but how much prep can be done on a centre console?
I just cleaned it
