See page 145

I suspect that something between X747 and X449 is broken.

It sounds to me as though the unlock actuator or wire to pax door is faulty.
Hence when you unlock from pax side the driver door opens but not vice versa.
Does that make sense?

My mistake. I agree with Titan.

Check the passenger door lock circuitry on p.147

+1, My passenger side is the same, have traced fault to actuator (will fix it one day). So once boot loom has been ruled out I would start with the actuator.

What's the betting a large number of us have this problem. I hardly ever have a passenger so I have never bothered. Maybe we should all meet up and have a masterclass by someone who's done it. It's not a task I'm comfortable with doing on my own

But there's not a lot of room for 2 pairs of hands!
I haven't had to do the Zed (fingers crossed yet) but I have had the same problem with my 5 series.
The task itself is not difficult - it's just infuriatingly fiddly!

The idea of a master class is a good one however.
I wonder if we could get something/someone at Newby Hall?

Taffzee (Jim) has just posted this thead LINK which may help many of you.
I would be interested to know details (price, source etc) of the heat shrink tubing - my 5 series was only treated to insulting tape (or insulating if you prefer) :D

99% sure thats a loom problem Duncan...Would get it checked ASAP as you can see I was really concerned when I saw the state of the wires, could of gone up in a cloud of smoke.

Ouch had it thought of that better check it as soon as I get back. I had a small leccy problem on the way back the other day so makes it even more a timely call.

Cheers

Stick.....wrong end there.

I am meaning someone to guide me and others. I want to tackle this myself but don't have the confidence with door card and all the bits in there. I was happy with the seats everything is bigger and clunkier not a lot to go wrong there. Maybe there are others like me who are more than capable of doing these jobs with just a bit of guidance from someone "in the know". Plus I want the satisfaction of having done it myself.
