Dear friends,
I am now replacing a catalytic converter for my 1997 BMW Z3 M44 1.9L and I got stuck on the vibration damper set up. I have removed the damper from an old catalytic converter and tries to set it up on a new one but I noticed the new one do not have a dent that the damper blanket fits. Please refer the pictures. I bought a new converter from ECC and the part number is BM8016T and it should fit to my car.
Can anyone advice me what to do next? Also, how the vibration damper works and without it, is it a big problem?

regards,
Kenya

I just noticed that the damper will fit as the exhaust pipe will have a dent if we press the damper bracket. The replacement was Successful.
