I'm about to purchase a lovely looking z4. A week after paying a deposit seller has told me the b pillar airbag light has come on.. he said its been standing all winter and has only started it today. He's said he took to a garage but they cannot reset the alarm.
Should I walk away? I've had a few z3 and loved them..
Cheers darren

An airbag light fault isn't the end of the world Darren. Get yourself a code reader and get the fault code shown.

I would walk away from a seller who is selling you their car and only started it today after months of it sitting idle.

If you are serious about selling a car and have any brains, you would surely make sure it is all OK BEFORE advertising it?

What model of Z4 is it? E85, E86, E89? Assuming it's not a G29.

We have members on here who can sort airbag modules rather than use independent BMW shops and a lot cheaper, if you go ahead post on here for help and they will soon find you. They do hang out over on the Z4Forum more than here but I do know them and can put you in touch. If its one of the satellite modules you will need to know the part number on the module to find a replacement unit or one of the exchangeable ones that can be used with your car. Replacement will requiring coding to the car which the guys can do.
Would help if you put your location in your user details so we know where you are.

Walk away, there's plenty more out there.

Lots of people put their zeds to bed for the winter and have the odd gremlin when they wake them up in spring.

I think I'd look at MOT history. Look at advisories to see if they get fixed or keep popping up. Have a good look at it and go for a good test drive.
The airbag light wasn't mentioned until after you'd paid a deposit so you should be able to back out and get your deposit back if you choose. Or what I'd do - assuming everything else is as nice as you say - is use that airbag as a way to push the price down a bit.
