I just found this site and wonder if anyone can help me????

I would like to know if my 1997 Z3 has a Thatcham immobiliser. I know it has an alarm as I have set it off a couple of times.

to the forum from West Cumbria.

Take a look at this link, it would appear that they had a standard (factory) fit from Sep 98, it may have been retrofitted by the dealer and could say in any docs you may have. Others may have more info.

Edit: As an aside mine was manufactured in Sep 97 and has a Thatcham fitted.

Hello and welcome from Surrey, this link should show if the alarm was factory fittted but as for is it a thatcham imobiliser may need a bit more research.

- in that era the UK models had the 3G EWS system installed by dealers prior to delivery. There is a link to obtain factory spec using VIN number but mine is not working at the moment .
You say the alarm has gone off a few times - how do you set it? Do you have a fob like the one in the picture below or a siren under bonnet?
