In addition to my C110 code reader I also have a Carly Generation 2 WiFi dongle. I opted for the Wifi because my phone connects the telephone via bluetooth.

The Carly works fine reading error codes and setting codes. It wouldn't reset codes when I first got it hence the C110, but latest software version seems to be good.

However, I've had no joy getting it to read and show parameters.

The C110 works fine on the few parameters I've tried (e.g. Oil Temp), but the Carly would be way better for capturing and displaying stats and parameters on the move. Most annoying.

Anyone else tried this Carly device and had success displaying Parameters?

Yeah I had a similar issue when I first got Carly. I would select a few perimeters and set live and nothing would show. Since the last few updates it’s been fine although it will still list perimeters that our car doesnt have “I’m assuming this the case as they don’t load” it’s been handy for keeping an eye on things playing on track.

Their support isn't brilliant - difficult to get to anything useful.
One post said that waiting for a minute is needed on Android. Not sure if I waited quite that long but then it didn't put that caveat on iOS.
Will give it another whirl...

I’m really disappointed with my Carly App, it’s not that cheap when you factor in the dongle and software, I’ve also had trouble reading live data too, must try again.

I see a picture emerging here.
The code reader and reset works fine. Its the other aspects that don't seem to work.
I've found an old and now unused Nexus tablet. I'll have a go with that.
I believe the OBD WiFi dongle is a standard device that you can use other software with. Will see if other apps work more effectively.

Mine works fine for coding and fault finding on the Z4, but I am using the cable version...
Not tried the on the move display
Gookah might be onto something here, I might try the cable next and see if the live data works all the time.

My Bluetooth dongle wont work on the Z4 so I too use the cable the live parameters seem to work fine with the cable.

Thanks Niall. Not sure what time I will be there until. I've got to pop over to Mansfield afterwards.

I use the torque app and a bluetooth elm327 adaptor permanently situated under bonnet, plugged into the 20 pin diagnostic port i picked up a switched live on the 20 pin port so the elm 327 bluetooth is not powered all the time... my old android phone stuck on a poundland sticky windscreen mount picks up the bluetooth from unerbonnet with no problem, and the torque app gives me loads of guages and graphs to monitor

i can get true engine temperature, maf sensor intake air temperature, throttle position, vacuum at throttle body front and rear 02 sensors, fuel trims engine load, and also get the live data gps speed, vehicle speed engine rpm, probably loads of other things i have forgot too.. well worth trying the torque app...

Spot on, that's what I use on mine with the dongle permanently in, it even shows boost pressure and water temp, two gauges I would like permanently in my car. I also have an ultrasound which is a standalone unit that plugs into the OBD port, on my zed it finds sixty odd parameters plus it finds and clears fault codes, I also have the ultrasound blue which is just a plug and displays all the parameters onto your done or tablet.
I gotta admit though for around 10 Audi you can't do better than torque.
