I'm getting 3 fault codes on the Carly. I clicked the 'clear' option and re-diagnosed, but still coming up with the same codes. Although I've not run the car since doing the diagnostic.
The codes are:
Yaw Rate Sensor 005E38
Unknown DTC fault 0098DE
AUC Sensor 00000F (Air Con)
Oh, and I'm still getting the 'tyre pressure low' light. Even though the tyres are okay and I have done the button pressing routine to no avail.
Has anyone had these codes or can give advice, please.
Colin.

Okay, I did some research on t'internet and it seems that the most common cause of the faults is the Yaw Rate Sensor. Had a look at the prices and, probably because it's Halloween, they looked quite frightening! However, I did find one place, gtmotors55, that did one for £24. So I ordered it yesterday, 30th, it arrived this morning. For that price and the service I think it's worth taking a chance. I'll let you all know how I get on, hopefully fitting it tomorrow. Fingers, legs, arms and eyes all crossed:D.
Colin.

All done:thumbsup:. Swapped the Yaw Rate Sensor over and got rid of those dreaded lights. Great result.
The cause of the problem was a build up of water. After taking the drivers seat out and lifting the carpet I was greeted with a pool of water covering the floor and a sodden sponge(?) layer. Two nights and one day of a de-humidifier going full blast has cleared nearly all of the damp, but next spring the seats and the carpet are all coming out to be thoroughly dried. Although, in the meantime I shall be on the look-out for newish, if not new, carpets.
As a precautionary measure though, I have sealed the plug unit with silicon sealant where the wires go into the plug, then wrapped the plug and socket in a piece of rubber pond liner, about 3 or 4 inches long, bound with amalgamating tape. And, as a 'belt and braces' ploy, another one foot square of liner between the carpet sponge and the unit. Also, the Zed is going in for some re-spray wok in about a months time, where it will be in the 'oven' for a few hours with the hood down. Hopefully, this should help dry out the rest of the damp.
I suppose the question should be; where is the water coming in? I guess with a 'soft top' it is to be expected. But I would welcome any pointers as to a solution if anyone has had similar things happen.
All in all, though, I am very pleased with the result and if this remedy can help somebody with the ' three light dilemma', then I'll be really chuffed:D.
As an aside, I am going to take the old unit apart and check it over for where the shorting occurred, for that is the obvious result of the water ingress, whether I will be able to find or replace any components that have failed I am not certain. But as I have a reasonable electronics work bench in my 'playroom' and thirty odd years of trying to electrocute myself, and not succeeding, it gives me a tiny glimmer of hope! If I do succeed I will post the results on the forum.
Cheers for now, Colin.

I would get a helper to spray water from a hose over the roof. While you look for the area of entry.

If it’s not obvious it may be running out from behind the door panel if the barrier is damaged.

Hi, when I had a brabus roadster I had the same problem which is why mercedes pulled the smart roadster in 2007 cos they were spending so much money replacing new cars that were leaking and they couldn't seal. I checked all the usual places but could not find the leak so I took it to my local smart indy and he was good enough to tell me that a trip to any good factor sell what can only be described as a smoke bomb and he gave me one to try. I can't for the life of me remember the name but I think halfords sell them too, so you obviously seal up any obvious areas then let the bomb off and just watch for where the smoke escapes from, easy peezy, it was fantastic and once you have located the leak just let the car stand with the windows or roof open for half hour and it leaves no smell although it did benefit from a wee dust off.
Hope this helps and I'll be watching to see how you get on.
Best of luck
