Carly diagnostic software, recommendations?

Hi all, I'm nearly at the end of my Z3 suspension rebuild, and I've come up against an ABS light, indicating a problem.

All of the abs sensors have been removed, 2 replaced, so I'm suspecting one of these is the cause, but which one?

A German friend has suggested the Carly product to determine which one. He hasn't used it on a Z3, but says it works great on later models.

Anyone here used it? and it states for a Z3 it needs an adapter, does anyone know what this is or looks like?

Carly is not cheap. You have to buy their cable and then the software. Probably about £90 all in.
Also it does very limited things on the Z3 whereas later models Z4's etc you can do a lot more and code different options etc.
You would be better getting INPA software on eBay, and even an old laptop to put it on.

I have both, I only use Carly on the z4 , whereas I use INPA on the Z3.

The INPA interface cable, looks like a scart shaped plug, do I need the BMW round connector interface too, to plug into the round diagnostics socket in the engine bay?

yes you just get the oblong to round adaptor cable and use the under bonnet socket.. you can do loads with that
