This will be one to watch for sure, opener on new series starting March 11th on National Geographic.

Back in 1985 I remember hearing Tony Pond's 6R4 approaching in Hamsterley Forest late at night on Lombard RAC Rally, appearing out of the darkness in blaze of lights and then gone!! Never forgotten. :rally:

Top man Tony Pond, remember him in a Rover doing a 100 mph average on the IOM TT course. Only modification a louder exhaust so they could here him coming. Still available as a DVD through Duke

Saw McRae use his as Course car @ McRae Stages. Freakin’ awesome.

When Foot and Mouth put paid to Rallying, 2001? I think, some of the rally guys came to play at various Sprints and Hillclimbs. An orange 6R4 came up Forrestburn (near Shotts, midway between Edinburgh and Glasgow) at stupid speed. Main vantage is a hill above the top hairpin, we all thought “he’s off”, but no, guy flicked it and cut the hairpin. On 2 wheels. The 2 wheels that should have been on the grass, voiding his time, were 2 feet in the air. Whole crowd erupted into cheers and clapping. My kids were really young, I think 6 and 4, still remember it.

I was at college and we did think about a group buy. They were being sold off on the cheap when Group B was cancelled. They wanted £13,000 for one.

Needless to say, we stuck with our £500 Minis :wideyed:

Nope, and neither would any of you I suspect
They weren't called the 'killer Bs' for nothing
There were some amazing Group B rally cars in that era, i mean real monsters.

I don't have the National Geographic channel as such, but I can see their programmes on Disney Plus
All the Car S.O.S back catalogue are on there, so I guess I'll have to wait until Thursday to find out if I can watch this episode or not

Z4 coupe sport.
Missed it on Thursday but just got it back on catch up. Remember them well right up to their ban. Wonder what one is worth these days. Just shows you that the Brit manufacturers at the time were very capable when they team up.
