My Z went in for its MoT test today and failed on lights, few weeks ago I had a dip beam go so went to Halfords for a set of their duel replacement kit wanting to replace both thinking if ones gone etc. Well I only replaced the one that had gone because I just didn't have the time.(even being retired) So fully intending to get it done asap. You can guess the rest. All lights worked perfectly but Richard noticed that one was slightly more yellow, "that's a failure he said ,first one in ten years and you've got two differant bulbs in your dip system, unless you can produce a bulb, the right one to match either and fit it outside the garage after I've finished the whole test and show me I'll issue a pass". Phew!!!!!!!! and he's looked after my Z ever since I've had it but I didn't ask him to do a pre test 5weeks ago with the service so it was down to me. Oh well at least it didn't get any advisories. Bl..dy Simota had to come out, cos it would have to be the difficult side wouldn't you just know it, just lucky I had the other bulb in the boot, good for a laugh though even if it was on me. He loves my Z and gets to road test it a couple of times a year usually with his wife in tow of cause.
Here's a couple of pics just to bore you all some more.lol.

Can't tell from this angle.

And that is total b*******s Roy. Ask him to show you in the Tester's Manual where it says they have to be exactly the same colour.

You're joking I got totally humbled by a 1.6 turbo in my 2.8 never been so shamed :sorry: some of those little buggers are quick. :wideyed:

Thought as much Tony, I'll tell him next time I see him. Good thing is the jobs a good en, as we say down ere.

Been out and done 35 miles and enjoyed it, cars going really nice but it'll probably be up for sale come the end of Sept, can't think what to do to it next so I'm gonna need another project.;) Shame the romance has only lasted 10yrs. Gonna be a good buy for someone. :hungry:
(Feeling better thanks, I'll pm you.)

What he is referring to is the fact that you can't have one "white" headlight and one obviously "yellow" (continental) one. Some people just take things to the extreme mate. Did you mention Halfords .......................... ;)=))=))

Yeh Tony I told him and I think I'd have come away with a pass anyway, was no problem and as said the jobs no longer outstanding. Never too old to lean a lesson ay. Strange thing was it stopped raining before I started then rained all the way home, mmmmm perhaps someone's looking after me.

I don't see how you refer to being retired and having time in one sentence
I had a lot more free times while covering the whole country on business ,and further, than now I am retired

Oh. And there was me considering giving up work to get on with all the other things I've got to do.
Forget it

When working I even had time to visit the pumping station we built in Nefyn, but now I would struggle to find time .

Well guys @abh29, @the Nefyn cat, looks like it didn't fall on deaf ears, but there is a lot of people still working that think us retired people :pompus: have a lot of time on our hand, well there right but it's a shame that time is not spare time, when I'm not looking after my grandson of a single mum, I'm busy getting there new council flat in order, looking out for my neighbours property when there away, trying to help other two son in laws get there gardens up to scratch and then and only then my home and garden list (a mile long) gets a look in. The poor Z comes last.:bored:RETIRED, more like TIRED, going to work for fifty years was a doddle in comparison.

When your working full time it's enough to keep your own home up to scratch so the kids don't ask you to do much for them, but when retired they think you've nothing better to do. We lasted 18mths into retirement doing just what we wanted, then the penny dropped and we've not stopped for 3yrs, but did get away for a week with the 3yr old grandson to Butlins, been waiting for 41/2 yrs to go on cruise we promised ourselves, so yes Steve you should be worried.=))

Thanks Steve, it's passed every one for the last ten yrs, but then it does get spoilt. Should be a good buy for someone when it comes up for sale end of Sept.:wideyed: if not before.

Sorry mate we're in the market for Morris Marina.

Just had permission to get something now instead of waiting till the house is sold but given a smaller budget cos I can't wait, Aston Martin looks well out the pic, so I'm afraid it's looks like another Z, not that I'm complaining. This will be my last car purchase by the looks of things as my 70th is not that far off. I'm really sad my son doesn't want my Z3, he's just got back into bikes and bought a lovely Triumph. I just can't see any way of keeping two.:grumpy:
Yours up for sale?.....:bookworm:...........=))
