Car crashes

So, sat having a beer watching the Blues Brothers, awsome film, but amazed at the number of cars crashed, so looking it up it held the record at release with 103 cars written off, and 104 in the 2000 sequel.

So what are the standings today:

1 - Transfirmers 3 - 532 cars

2 - Matrix Reloaded - 300 cars

3 - Fast 5 - 260 cars, but the whole franchise has got through 1000 cars

I found it amazing, hut, Hut, hut, hut, hut, hut, hut.................

Mark is doing James Bond,they've spent £8000000 on Austin Martin 1 mil per car and there going to wreck 2 on one stunt!

Most of these franchises build kits of the actual cars so they cut the costs. In the bond films the cars loaded to the rafters with guns tend to have smaller engines to fit all these extras.

For example the when they used those Astons out in the snow (Die another day?) they had Chevy small blocks in them.

I was just told this by the guy i share my office with, he's an ex Aston Martin designer.

Your right Lee I only know this as Mark is driving them,he was driving the landy in the last one (not his own hair) and the black Alfa in the one before.He has spent the last couple months in Austria driving down a mountain being chased by a plane.it looks good

I agree a lot are just shells, like the Bond Z3 for example. What is interesting on the Matrix example is that they were huge batch of flood damaged cars, that would have been scrapped anyway.

When he was doing F&F the actually have the production car and strip out all safety features ,airbag,tc,etc and then drive them .he bought 2 subaru brz from the last one that were unused all the airbags had been skip'ed he had to source and fit all new ones before he could sell them on

Speaking of crashes someone hit my zed today Noone was hurt other then tearing my plate off and tearing my wrap and bumper.

These things happen. First time driver reversing without looking.

Well if the costs are low enough i will give them the option to pay in cash to save the kids insurence. But I highly doubt it as it cost me £450 just to wrap the bumper.

Different game when its Hexis pearlescent. Better wrap quality but harder to wrap over all.

Where did you get yours done ?they recon they could do mine in2.5 days does this sound right with 3m wrap ?

I vaguely remember someone saying that they put a different engine in Bonds Z3 because it wasn't powerful enough, or did I dream it??

I don't know if that is true Mike, but it would have been an early prototype car in 1995, so would have been an M43 8v and not the M44

I was always concerned about that for a daily driver, especially in a city where people drives like hell.
So I decided to take the car out (in the city), only on very special occasions (which don't guarantee that nothing will occurred).......
