I’ve had the custom covers half cover and an Every car covered half cover. Neither has lasted more than a year being used daily and both have advantages. Custom covers half cover is good because it’s heavy and isn’t easily shifted in the wind, but it shrinks and after a year it starts to get brittle and breaks when folded up. The Every Car covered one is much lighter and is more waterproof, but as it’s got older, it flaps about a bit in the wind to the point where it lets rain get onto the windows, which is not good if your vapour barriers behind the door cards are not sealed. So basically you need to budget about £50 to £100 a year if you don’t have covered parking and you don’t want your slightly leaky Z3 to be saturated. Also, obviously try not to put the cover on when the car is wet.

Avoid the cheaper 'Ultimate Speed' ones from LIDL. They are not even slightly waterproof, despite what they claim. There are reviews on Youtube claiming they're 'the best' but I bought three, used one on a Classic Triumph, and the first light shower of rain went straight through. Total rubbish, maybe fit for indoor storage but I ended up giving two of them away. You do get what you pay for, it's better to go for a quality item, but I thought I'd mention them just in case anyone would see them and maybe take a chance.

Having used a Stormforce full waterproof cover, I would say they are a PITA and more trouble than they are worth. They are big and heavy and need to be dried and stored somewhere when not used. They can damage paintwork if not extremely careful and can cause the car to 'sweat'.
I now have a lightweight waterproof half cover which is miles better for practicality. It takes 30 seconds to put on and get off too.

Halfords all-seasons car cover in XS size fits a Z3 perfectly. Waterproof, breathable, durable and cheap (£50). Had mine for years, but mainly use it as a dust sheet these days when painting, as have a car port now. Worked great when the Z was more exposed tho.

I have half covers on 2 of my zeds a custom cover on one less than 2 yrs old has shrunk a fair bit really tight to get back on now
The other has a cover from cabrio shield been on the Turquoise green zed for nearly 6yrs now .
Apart from the outer bleaching in the sun from dark grey to light grey still waterproof and fits perfectly no shrinkage.

I have the cheaper one ( bought 2nd hand) but considering its pretty much permanently fitted its done well.
So would suggest the dearer one would last better
Mine used to be dark grey as website now very light grey.
