Cancelling out the brake pad warning

I have just put pads in that don't have the ware sensor and the light has come on so now know it works by seeing an open circuit. Will the fix be as simple as putting in a link wire or does it need to see a certain resistance?

I have an interest in this, I have the same problem and I just cant reset it even following the method in the Bentley bible.

think you can just join the two wires together and then tuck out of the way
