So, need to remove the seats and steering wheel to refurb them, don't want any warnings so removing the battery. Will it be OK for say, 3 weeks, or will the immobiliser 'forget' the rfid chip?

If you still have a standard radio you will have to enter a code once the battery is reconnected.
Make sure you have the code.

The cars were shipped from the States fitted with a temporary battery master switch which was removed upon arrival in the UK so shouldn't be a problem disconnecting it for 3 weeks or more. As the others have said make sure you have your radio code to reset it when power is restored.
