I wonder if someone could help me find a part number or the part as yesterday on my E36 (M44 engine) I replaced my camshaft sensor and now the car is driving as good as new again but when I took the camshaft sensor off the front of the block I broke the plastic wire holder ( the little bit of plastic to the side of the sensor).
For the minute I've put a cable tie in place to hold the wire in position but would prefer to fit the part properly, so any help would be much appreciated.

Near enough impossible to remove the cam sensor without breaking the plastic holder. I've got two zeds both with the M44 and I find that the plastic gets so brittle that when you try and remove the wire from the holder, the holder snaps. I used some epoxy to hold it the two pieces in place.

Thanks guys I managed to get a cable tie around it to hold it nearly in place but like you say the plastic has seen better days and is very brittle,
I was thinking of removing what remains of the holder and wrapping some kind of heatproof tape around the wire.

Andy saved the day for me and got me part and I fitted it today so it's back to as good as new again and he only charged me postage for the part .
Thanks Andy
