Compiling a list of stuff that my Z needs and I’ve found something called a shock absorber dust kit.

Has anyone got these on their Z? Are they any good at protecting the callipers from rubbish?

Not sure what that is Dawn, but if it's the plastic tubes that fit over some shocks I don't think they make any difference in keeping muck off the calipers. They just keep some muck off the shocks.

They are a sort of sock/sleeve that goes over each shock absorber, Ken. I wonder if the road dirt just has something else to stick to?

They are plastic tubes that that fit over rear shock absorbers and front struts, I’ve just purchased them as part of my suspension refurbishing parts list.
They protect the polished sliding surfaces of the suspension units.

From where have you bought these, please?
Not certain they’re for my Z but I’ll look at them.
I can’t ever recall my Z having had these fitted and I bought my Z as a new car. Were these covers a later addition to the Zs?

They're called protection tubes, all Zeds should have them. Here are the part numbers -
Front - 31331137932
Rear - 33521129263

Had all new when we did a suspension refresh on my wife’s 3.0 , the covers and sponge things cost almost as much as the Sachs shocks🤷‍♂️

I’ll look on my Z when I can because it sounds like these should be on my car.

The front strut protection tubes(2) for my M Coupe cost £12.70, dampers (2) cost £28.60 and rear shock absorber protection tubes (2) cost £4.99. All plus 20% VAT from BMW dealer.
