California Z3 owners! (License plate question)

I bought a Z3 and there is only one license plate located in the back-- however there is a license plate mount in the front though (with no license plate)

Before I bother the owners, I was wondering if the DMV sent you two or one license plates for your Z3.

I've read that the DMV sends the amount of license plates based on your car. Some cars are not eligible to have a front license plate apparently?
I just want confirmation that other Z3 owners have only received one license plate as well so that I don't have to worry about cops pulling me over. ($200 ticket)

I can tell you that only a rear plate is required in Florida but can't speak for Cali.

The majority of forum members are here in the UK where front and rear number plates are mandatory.

If the vehicle is registered in California, it must have both front and rear license plates.

You can legally drive in California without a front license plate if your vehicle is registered in a different state (such as Arizona) that does not require front license plates.

Yeah, I did google search prior to posting-- but as I bought this from a private seller (they're not replying and I'm a little impatient lol)
I'm not sure if they wanted to only display the back license for aesthetics for the front view, or if they were only sent a one license plate.

Absolutely Steve. It's only for the speed cameras after all. In Florida they get you heading towards them by "Kojak with a Kodak" method. You ask Mrs. Schumacher.

Unfortunately no LOL. Stupid DMV. Have to order completely new license plates, pay the fees, reregister the vehicle or some s*** and pay more fees and wait 3-6 hours in line LOL this is my first time owning a car

Previously registered in California

So, you either have to be patient and hope the seller of the car has another plate (which they may not have if it was previously registered out of state) or bite the bullet and pay up. I can't see another option sadly.

Here if you need to replace a plate ( missing for example) you take your V5 form ( vehicle logbook) and couple of form of ID
Go to your local Autopart retailer and they will make you new ones.
But over here it's just the vehicle number on the plate
