Cadwell Park track day

It sounds like you had a fantastic time Dunc, i'm glad the Zed held up to a days abuse on the track. That reminds me, I still have your strut brace. It looks nice and shiny leaning up against the wall in my porch but I can't help thinking it would be better used under the bonnet of your car!

All of the BMW track days fall on awkward days for me this year, the only one I can make is Silverstone later in the year. I don't care about the extra cost, the thought of throwing my little Zed around a formula 1 track is too much to resist.

Just read this thread, great stuff Duncan :-bd I really do fancy one of these days My only concern is will my nose fit inside the helmet? I suppose I could leave the visor up though

Cadwell is only half an hour up the road from us so we thought we'd pop up and spectate, having not been to a track day before.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, weather was great and met some lovely people. Looking forward to the next.

There are still 20 places available for the Croft one on the 16th July and another one at Silverstone in September.

Can remember your car, there were some cracking cars on the track that day.
Mine however was parked up in the car park, we aren't that brave. :-s

I have to say Bravery was was one of the things that worried me I did not want to have to brave! so I employed an Instructor for the whole day and did not have a single adrenaline moment and yet the instructor said when I went out on my own that I was getting all I could from a road car! he also told me that the track prepared cars were not doing much better than me which was great!

Nicks events are so well run that it really does not take bravery. also Nick gave me the name of a firm that I contacted about insurance (I did not bother though) and it was £75 for £3,000 of cover for me.

The way it works is that if I spin and damage my car and someone else's I am responsible for mine and they are responsible for theirs. and the Track worries about damage to the Track but if you were there all day watching then I think you will have been aware that they only called in a couple of cars (black flagged) because they thought bits were loose and checked them and let them back out again. And the only time (apart from Lunch) that they closed the track was because a lady marshall needed a "comfort break" and almost as soon as it was closed it was opened again LOL.

As I have never been to a track before I was very nervous but I can honestly say get onto the http://www.bmwccgbforum.co.uk/croft-circuit-noisy-trackday-july-16th_topic7720.html and register they prefer it if you are a BMW member but you do not have to be, it just costs a little bit more but not much. I would love to see more of us showing our Zroadster.org logo off at the events.

if the one thing I did so, so much that day. I was almost blind to everything else that went on I was so focused.

By the way I am taking both cars to the next one and have booked an instructor again as I intend to compare the two cars, Both 2.8's but they feel so different and I want to explore the differences.
