Just been reading the various threads on people being locked out of their Z3 boot made me think - is there any obvious place to run a cable from the interior into the boot? Not as thick as a subwoofer or amp cable, maybe 5-6mm thick?

Factory fitted CD players were mounted in the boot and were fed by a thick cable. I don't know where it's routed though

That's a start thank you, as long as I know there's a possibility I can do it without resorting to a drill!

Fantastic thanks very much. It's for a CB radio, I have a magnetic mount with a 2m 'twig'. Obviously I don't intend to use it all the time, and with the top down the cable could run straight from the unit over the top of the folded hood, but with the top up I can run it out of the boot and just trap the cable in the seal.

On the US versions the main wiring loom runs from the interior to the boot on the left side, there are additional spots in the rubber seal for additional wires. The battery cable runs through a rubber seal on right side. Not sure if the cable runs are reversed on right hand drive models? The pass throughs are under the carpet in the roof storage area close to the rear shock mounts. I would not run a antenna cable or electronic wires near the battery cable due to interference.

Thank you. I'd not considered the interference thing!
