C110 Fault scanner - unable to connect

Afternoon,

I'm not able to get my C110 scanner to connect! It powers up, but then produces an error to say unable to communicate! I've tried it both on the OBD II port, and the circular port under the bonnet via an adapter with the same results both times!

I suspect a problem on the car as this is the second scanner I've had from different vendors, both giving exactly the same result!

Car is a BMW Z3 1.9 (2001)

Any suggestions as to how best to resolve? I need to try and work out why the Engine Management light is illuminated!

Many thanks,

Where are you located? There may be another member close by who has another scanner

Don't shoot me for stating the obvious, but you have got the ignition turned on haven't you?

Bumpa, always worth asking the obvious question, but yes I have.
Thanks
