Never heard of a Bakewell Pudding, but have enjoyed a few Bakewell Tarts over the years

Great neck of the woods Alex, we were walking a bit south of Bakewell and I kept saying to Mrs Mint "It's a great Zedding day". Good to see you out and about;).

@Jack Ratt A Bakewell pudding has a sponge base made with eggs and a jam and ground almond filling rather than a Bakewell tart which does not have egg in it and has a almond based top.

A grand day for it today Alex and yes that red does tend to show different as the light changes.
And also @Mint I never knew there were Bakewell puddings as well as Tarts either Dave. As Andy often says every day is a school day, you wouldn't get that on .net

Tony.

Cheers Mr Mint - I tend to shoot out on the slightest provocation. I'm usually on my own which I quite enjoy - steering wheel / throttle / clutch / brake etc. Today it was with Herself, equally enjoyable, just less overtaking . . . . :)

If you want a pink car buy a red Vauxhall or Fiat, well back in the 80's you did.;) You didn't have to wait that long.

A Bakewell Pudding is something exceptional. It looks a little dull if I'm honest, but it is genuinely anything but. Yes its made with eggs, and I'm pretty sure its not suitable for diabetics !

I've only heard of it being for sale in Bakewell. And if it is for sale anywhere else I dont want to know - its an excuse for a trip to a pretty part of the country . . .

Go on. You know you want to !

Haha. I think this my first red car tbh. I did have some pink trousers in the early eighties. And matching bright yellow ones. Well I was young . . .

Thats enough sharing for now. I'm gonna get my coat . . .

'Bloomer's' in the centre of old Bakewell is one of the oldest producers of Bakewell puddings. The building dates from 1610 and their secret 'Pudding' recipe was officially registered in 1889.It was owned and run by the Bloomer family throughout until the last family member with no heir sold the business to my brother in law.
