Hi, sure there are a few things

It is not that hard unless you get stuck on something... The whole job took me 2 hours which is slow [first time].
**Go to Pelican Parts online, choose BMW, then choose How To..., and find the Z3 e36/7 segment, click on that and read how to do everything first. They have all the great tips required including photos.
**Use a socket set 13 mm I think to remove the drain, don't try to use a screw driver. After draining put it back in carefully not too tight.
**I did not drain the entire system. I just drained the radiator and saved the coolant. You will find about 4 litres will come out plus another half a litre when you pull out the pump so be ready with a bucket underneath. You can remove the drain plug all the way and the radiator will slowly drain so slowly undo the overflow tank filler cap and you can control how fast the coolant comes out

**Remember the fan is a left hand thread. I highly recommend that you spray WD40 or something on the nut and let it soak for several days before attempting to remove the fan, it can be a mongrel. Watch where your tools [special tools required] are so you don't accidentally damage the VANOS housing [or your knuckles] when removing the fan.
**I used my torque wrench with the 16mm socket to get the best leverage when pulling back on the belt tensioner to take tension off the pulley, don't fully remove the belt unless you are going to replace it. Keep a photo on hand so you know how to refit it. You think you can remember then it all goes pear shaped when you try later!
**I put the front of the car on ramps when doing this job. A standard 10L bucket fits underneath easily.
**I did not remove the Vanos/engine lifting bracket, I just removed the upper nut and the lower bolt and you can wiggle the thermostat out easily - why remove something that doesn't have to be touched I say!
** I was fortunate that I could pull out the water pump with my bear hands. Some people have to use bolts to get it out but Pelican Parts tells you how to do it.
I hope all goes well.
