Not politics, but driving. Every EU country on the European mainland PLUS a trip to the Arctic Circle....

I'll start from either the Chunnel, Bilbao or Santander and visit...

France
Spain
Portugal
Andorra (not in EU, but worth a trip)
Monaco (not in EU, but worth a trip)
Italy
Slovenia
Hungary
Romania
Bulgaria
Greece
Turkey (not in EU, but so close, it would be rude not to)
Slovakia
Austria
Czech Republic
Poland
Lithuania
Latvia
Estonia (Tallin)

Get the ferry from Tallin to Helsinki, then visit...

Finland (and the Arctic Circle)
Sweden
Denmark
Germany
Luxembourg
Belgium
Netherlands
and come home either through the Chunnel or on the Rotterdam-Hull ferry

It will be around 10,000miles and take 3 to 4 weeks.

I don't imagine for one second that anyone would want to do the whole trip, but is anyone interested in any of the sections?

Tyre files (to download and have a look at)...

Wish i could get 3 weeks of let alone 4. Would be a great driving experience. We are toying with the idea of driving over to Roumania next summer to meet up with Dan and going to Transylvania. I just have to work out when

First of all congratulations for the grand tour! I'm happy that someone did it!
I'm thinking to join for a segment, but surely I'll support you on the Romanian part.
I hope it will not happen in August next year.
Great idea! From my experience , a month in the Zed makes you think that is too much, but after its ends , you wish for more...

I won't be doing it in my Z. It would cost too much and it needs 98 octane which might not be available all the time.

I've done a slightly smaller tour when I went to the Monaco GP in a Smart car - that was fun. No passenger seat, but a flat sheet of plywood and a rollmat plus sleeping bag for a bed. I have no idea where the photos are for that.

I've also done a decent tour in my 330 (https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=&t=1286224). I'll probably be using this again as the Smart couldn't do a hill-start on Stevlio. I had to zig-zag up the hill to reduce the gradient;).

That trip looks epic and defiantly interests me! 10,000 miles works out to be £1,900 In fuel :D

Should be done in such way that important touristic / historical points must be touched. Up to me that Tour will be done in 6-7 months, seeing ...much!
Even for people with time it will be a problem: the money! Still like the idea! "Think big!"

I''m with you @ Zeti!! Joan and I did much of the same route in five weeks and even that felt like a whirlwind tour like those commercial trips with eighteen cities in twelve days. My friend took one of those trips and was lucky I had been to most of the places he went to because I was able to tell him wherever his pics were taken!! and there were lots of them where he had no clue as to where they were or even which country he was in!! Pick up a cheap Z @Pingu, drive the route and flog it on once you've completed the journey....simples

There's the practicality side to be considered as well. Did you see the photos of what I did to the 330 to carry the stuff I wanted?

Cramming 3-4 week's of stuff into a Z3 is just not affordable. You would have to live off a credit card for 28 days.

I went to Spain for a fortnight with a credit card and a passport once. The most expensive 14 days of my life!!!
