You'll probably find that the best option is to fill the reservoir and crack the bleed nipples off and allow gravity to do it's work mate. That's how I bleed 99% of brakes. after the fluid has run through pump the brakes until the pedal comes hard and then crack each nipple in turn (n/s/r, o/s/r, n/s/f and finally o/s/f) watching at each for bubbles to escape from the bleed nipple. All 4 calipers are being replaced - the resrs are getting refurbed and the bleed nipples are okay on those and with the fronts I'll finally be fitting the calipers that I bought from @gookah, only a year late!!
Unfortunately though, a significant amount of the fluid has already been lost thanks to me not putting any caps on the end of the brake lines when removing hoses... and my only worry is whether by ez bleed kit will be enough to get the system bled.
You could, but that over complicates it mate. The tight fit in the drilled hole makes the plate "jam" against the side of the tube when pressure is applied.@t-tony Clever thinking. I suppose you could even use a threaded bar, a couple of nuts and the plate, using the nuts to secure the plate in desired position.

clean the cobwebs off them first.......I'll finally be fitting the calipers that I bought from @gookah, only a year late!!
Otherwise known as your walking stick.I use a length of wood to press the pedal.
