Hi,

I'm almost at the point where I can start reassembling the zed and putting the rear end back in. One of my problems is with the brake pipe clips. They were really brittle during removal so I have about 6 broken ones.

Unfortunately BMW don't sell the same one but instead have a replacement part that doesn't fit!

Other than using zip ties is there anything else that can be used to secure the brake pipes? Maybe someone has had luck with clips from a different car manufacturer?

The above is a picture of the clip I'm after, I've asked Andy if he can remove some from a breaker but the clips are just too brittle and snap when trying to remove them...

Hellerman P clips may work, and they come in loads of sizes. Have a look on RS Components or Farnell Electronics website for details of them.

There is also a Flexicon one that is a metal band with a plastic insert. Don’t know what sizes they use though.

They don't screw onto the existing threads. You'll screw it on and they'll just pop off.

What about something like plastic epoxy to fill the clips and then put it on the threads and let it cure? Currently the threads on the trailing arm won't hold the replacement clips on tight enough and they can be pulled off very easily...
