Well, the Mints have had another great day out with @Bozzy and @Mrs. Bozzy. Steve and Sara came over to Mint Towers for an early morning cuppa before setting off through some lovely Staffordshire villages to Carsington Water for our picnic lunch. We started off with our roofs down but unfortunately the weather gods were not on side today and we had to resort to top up driving. After (a chilly) lunch we headed off into the Peak District along some very narrow country lanes to eventually land in Longnor. We found @MAURICE THE MARTIAN and @billz had beaten us to the tea room so we had a good chin wag over a cuppa. Our final leg took us to Mappleton and a very good pub for our final chat and cuppa. A superb day with great company. Thanks both.

Pics to prove it;)

Ah yes, the Zed kiss. We had pulled up for our final photographs on a slight hill. I was leading and pulled up first and Steve stopped a couple of feet behind me. I applied the handbrake jumped out and took some photos. After about 2 minutes suddenly the car rolled backward into Steve's Zed:nailbiting:. Luckily there was no damage to either car but it was a good job Steve was behind or my Zed would have been at the bottom of the slope:(. Also lucky he was fairly close so my Zed didn't build up much speed before the 'kiss'. Don't know why it happened as the car was steady for a couple of minutes before the handbrake 'let go'. Filed under 'Sh*t Happens':sorry:

It was certainly a bit chilly for our picnic, we used as much gas warming our hands as boiling the kettles:whistle:

Washed ours today,I think it was the dirtiest it's ever been, lumps of mud and cow poop well stuck to the under carriage and wheel arches. Smelled like a farm yard, can't think why =)).
The first part of the cruise was top drawer, some very nice picturesque villages and some highlights such as the hole through the house and the village pond just before that.
The rest of the day was also spot on,apart from the rain. How could you not like Derbyshire in any weather :).
Must add your pics are great,I must start using my d.s.l.r again.
Looking forward to the next one ;).

Well that's great isn't it everyone, no damage to the car :)
But no mention of me sat in the car who could have ended up at the bottom of the slope, it's nice to know Dave has his priorities right

I have to own up here though, a few years ago I had an A4 estate and I'd been out one Friday lunch to the KFC up top of Lincoln. I got back to work and parked up to deliver the Ass. manager his share when a foreign guy came in the office waffling about a car driving itself ! My car had rolled across the yard and came to a stop against some new lorry tyres which had been delivered and left outside against the wall. Thanks Dad!! H/brake malfunction ? No, operator error :(:(

Crikey, lucky for you those tyres were there, soft landing and all that .
I can't remember ever leaving the hand break off but countless times left it in gear only to forget when I came back and started the engine with an all mighty lurch forward .

That's what my mate Graham refers to as the 6 position hand brake Steve, every time we service his car at home. I'm a lazy so and so I just use P. The tyres did put a small crease in my n/s/f wing to be honest, but, luckily on the day we had a guy doing a repair on a customers alloy wheel and a small consideration changed hands and the crease went away ........................... They say that the sun shines on the righteous, eh Mr. Mint?:)
