Boot locking

Does anyone have issues with shutting the boot, and is there an easy fix? You cannot see the mechanism latching, so is impossible to line up exactly, but seems it takes 3+ attempts to shut the boot. I replaced the lid today, and nothing has changed. I'm stumped for ideas as adjusting the mechanism makes it worse

I had a similar problem on my Z3. I had the car parked on a sideways slant (if that makes sense) opened the boot for some time when i come to shut it the boot lid had moved only slightly out of line and took some force to close. After getting the car home loosening the hinges, closing the boot no problem opened tightened bolts problem solved. Not saying this is what's wrong with yours but worth a try?
