Hi guys and gals,

All my Z car’s boot liners, which is the thick felt-like moulded form pieces, are out and in need of a clean. Has anyone cleaned theirs? I can’t get too much water/soapy water on them as the moulded shapes will disappear so how do I go about bringing these back to looking good?

Cheers.

Morning all,

Have any of you lovely Zedders ever cleaned their Z’s car boot liners? Or are they all filthy hidden away under the gleam of shiny bodywork? 🤣

Other cars I have seen professional detailers give them a spray misting with fabric conditioner and warm water lightly agitating with a brush then use an upholstery vacuum if that helps

Thank you. Misting makes sense snd I’m guessing the brush needs to be very soft so as to retain the integrity of the liners. I will try one liner which is discreetly positioned as a trial one.

I can recommend Yumcars interior cleaner, got some marks out of my mini roof liner. As long as you’re not saturating them the trim should be fine, start with a microfibre towel before progressing to a soft brush. I’m sure some water down washing up liquid or laundry detergent would suffice if you have no interior cleaner at hand.

Thank you @Althulas I was going to do these today but the weather has changed as the plan is to dry them in the sunshine. Been rain here today. 🙏 for the sunshine so I can get in with doing these.
My Z is in the workshop and these will be needed soon. How’s your Z progressing?

Going sort of well, the front subframe frame is out of with it’s associated bits but I was too washed out after work last week to do any refurb work last week working outside all day in that heat was knackering. Should be more progression this week with it being cooler for refurbing what parts needs to be done, have all new wishbones, brackets, top mounts, poly bushes, engine mounts, brake discs, pads, back plates, plus all new hardware. No rusty stuff going back on. I will update my progress thread once I’ve made some headway. Quite a bit to do but broken down into small chunks makes a plan. Then after that the cooling, ac system and vac system to sort out and a cosmetic engine bay tart up🤣

Yum Interior spray has worked well on bringing my Zs boot liners back to looking great. The beauty of this spray product is you don’t need to rinse it off so you can concentrate on removing the years of build-up.
