Decided that I thought the inside of the bootlid never looked finished and the 3M lid is slightly different so the trim doesn't quite fit.
I set about making my own. It was a bit of a Sunday afternoon project but when I decided it would work I set about sourcing some carpet and fixings that match. Found a local vehicle trimmers less than a mile away for the carpet and glue, he also looks to do a great job on leather seats. BMW for the clips and B&Q for the backing so here's the finished job. Might even make some more if people are interested.

Looks good Brian, as you say it finishes the boot off.

Certainly neatens the appearance, instead of just unfinished metalwork. Do you think it deadens any sound?
Can you do one for a Z4?

I'm not sure if it deadens sound but I am going to put some insulation behind it when it stops raining. I should think on could be made for a Z4 as long as there are some 13mm wide holes or slots in the bootlid. I'll have a look sometime soon or send me a picture of the inside of the bootlid

Will do, Brian, then you can see what you think.
