sean d has found the chrome boot key latch that I am looking for but we are unsure whether you can swap over the barrel so that I can keep the same key.
Has anyone done this?

It must be possible, but, look for a circlip of any description which holds it in place. When you're removing a lock cylinder ALWAYS have the correct key inserted to allow the cylinder to be withdrawn and to keep the tumblers in place until the cylinder is replaced into the housing.

Tony.

Just had a look and there are 2 retaining clips that hold the chrome sleeve, so the only part you need is the outer sleeve.

Is it a basically round hole Sean, maybe a step drill or a cone drill would open it out ok?

From memory you disconnect the connecting rod that goes to the actuator, undo the two bolts, rotate it 180 degrees and it should pull out. I think it all comes out in one piece, the lock and the pull and then it can be separated. It's simple to do, I've swapped a few locks now.
