During lockdown the shinny go fast parts started calling my name so I fitted those before I got around to stiffening up the boot floor. I do check the boot floor quite often and so far its holding up but this winter its time to do something.

I contacted Randy Forbes and the kit is over 500 pounds delivered to the Uk plus customs.

Is it me or is that a lot of money for some steel before fitment? Has anyone else here done anything different?

I have welders, grinders and all the tools and build alot to I am reluctant to spend this much just for some precut metal.

Whats everyone elses thoughts?

Yeah it is alot of money, there's lots of methods. Personally I would buy an E36 diff cover (twin ear) buy the matching hanger and get it welded in. The guys that turbo/Drift zeds use this method.

Do you happen to have a picture? Never heard of using a different hanger. I already have a twin eared diff cover I picked up years ago and I planned to fit it when I did something.

My plasma cutter died a death so I would rather spend the money fixing or replacing it.

Just come across this gem.

BMW E30 Differential Secondary (Dual) mount + Powerflex bushing - RacingDiffs

edit: apparently not suitable for Z3. I wonder why, nothing that can’t be sorted with a welder I bet :)
