Wanted Boot carpet stud/clip thingys.

In the boot of my Z3 there are quite a few black clips that hold all the upper carpet in place, like big black drawing pins!

Anyone got any spare as i have a few missing, need about 5.

Clips are a minefield if you try and buy aftermarket on eBay. Lots of different sorts all look like they might do the job and when they arrive they can be a poor fit despite the sellers description. In fairness quality is generally good but just so many sizes on those fir tree clips as they are called.

Best to buy from BMW and as said it is rarely as bad as you think it’s going to be with the price. Same goes for most screws and bolts.

The only real nasty one so far I’ve found is the buttons that go on the Phillips screws for the dash/centre console. And no one does 3rd party parts.

Agree with @Brian4 on correct part number.

The eBay part may have a stem too wide for the hole. BMW list as 6.5mm and eBay part 9-10mm.

And, as mentioned the head is smaller by about 20%.

The BMW part is about 65p ea. So if you only want 5 they’re the same money as the eBay part.
