I am having trouble opening the boot. The central locking works OK, but the boot button is very hard to push in and only pops out again very slowly.
I have tried lubricating everything, but not much different. Any ideas?

What did you use to lubricate it Paul?

Tony.

I had a similar problem on the rear hatch release button on my coupe a few years ago, it used to stick in and I had to use key to pull it back out. I think it got clogged up with spray/debris when it’s been raining.
A thoroughly flush out with WD40 whilst holding a rag underneath. That worked for me. I repeat this maybe a couple of times a year and have had no further problems.

Hi Pete, that’s what I was going to suggest. To open the boot so that the release button is vertical and spray with brake cleaner whilst operating the button to clear it out. Then apply some silicone spray or silicone grease.

Tony.

I used silicon spray.

I think you'll need to thoroughly flush the lock button with either brake or carburettor cleaner and then apply some fresh lubricant mate.

Tony.

Thanks Tony,
I have just ordered some brake cleaner so will give it a good clean and apply fresh silicon.

Please let us know how you fare mate.

Tony.

Be careful with carby or brake cleaner though, It can destroy things...plastic , paint, etc...
