Indies are Bmw specialists but are considerably cheaper than main dealers.

My father in law uses this place for his 1997 316 coupe. They've looked after it for years and he's always been really happy with the service.

If you live in the Bristol/Bath area and you are looking for a handmade stainless steel exhaust system for your car with a lifetime guarantee, I can recommend these guys.
I have a 1.9 and they replaced from the CAT to the back for £280, I was able to choose the tail pipe and exhaust note.

What kind of sound are you getting from the new system?? How loud do you find it and is there any droning at steady speeds?? JIM

I didn't want a loud exhaust as my Z3 is a 1.9 and I didn't want to pretend it was something that it's not. So I asked them to make it as quiet as possible. I think I've now got a really good sound, it's low and throaty, as it is a free flow exhaust it was never going to be as quiet as the OEM they took off (which had a hole in it and was blowing). My car is currently garaged for the winter and this is the only picture I have of the exhaust and that's just the tailpipe. I'll try and get underneath and take a better one later.
