Hi guys thinking of buying z4 2.5i se any one know the mpg on this engine thanks

Probably around 30 mpg.

Obviously the harder you drive the figure drops.

Also depends on which variant engine is in the 2.5i. There were 2 different fitted ones at different times, and one has more HP (I don't mean the 2.5si). If I remember correctly the earlier engines were more powerful.

Personally having owned a 3.0i, I'd push for one of those

Depends on overall condition. Difficult to value without seeing it. I'd have a look on eBay for similar cars and get a rough price.

Pistonheads Is worth a look as well

2.5 192bhp i get 31.7 mpg according to the obc, strange but that what it says in the hand book, dont seem to get it any higher what ever type of driving i do, never driven the 3.0 but my car is unbelievable poss the best car i have owned, and i have had a lot,

We have the 3.0 and get 28 around town and 32 on trips. When we go to Europe we usually get around 32 to 34

Gaz the early ones are less BHP 192 for the 2.5se and 208 for the 2.5si. Like wise the 3.0. 231 compared to 265 of the Si

My Z3 is 2.8 auto. My OBC says 32mpg but when I calculate it by miles driven against fuel used I get 28mpg. Best I've had by calculation was on my York trip last summer when I actually got 32mpg.
I work out my mpg at every fill up for my Zed, my Merc and my company car and I log it on a spread sheet. Must have a bit of OCD
My company car does better by calculation than the OBC, total opposite to my Zed.

@billz - I'm talking about engines before the 2.5Si was introduced - there were 192bhp and a 177bhp variants. The 192bhp was used in the original model released in 2003, and I'm not sure what year they switched to the 177bhp version (possibly at the first facelift).

192 bhp 2.5 and my computer mebob says 29.7 that's around the town and driven fairly briskly through the gears
