Nice job!!! Its great to be able to work indoors. i like the way you had everything labeled on the table. I had such a tough time screwing in the back bow. I had to take one of the seats out. What brand of calk/butyl did you use? How long did it take you to get the old stuff off the bow? Nice tape job with the protective cover on the back deck. Was it difficult to get your top up the first time? Did some one have to help you? Did you have to use a rivet gun for the two side straps on your model? Did the bow straps sprayed with adhesive and the bow covers go on well and stay there the first time around? How well did the top seal out water where it meets the door? Frankie
Wow Frankie, so many questions. I did everything on my own. Taking apart was quite straight forward, as you know the two end bolts on the tacking strip we're problematic and I could see no advantage in seat removal so just motored them back and forth to gain as best access as I could. When refitting the left hand one took an hour to do! Cleaning the strip maybe an hour and I used a butyl tape strip sourced for the MOD, no make name. If it's good enough for them it's good enough for me.
First fit was far to tight on the header and I spent a lot of time readjusting the front strip. It is still quite tight but I will live with it for a couple of weeks and may readjust later. I have also taken the uprights off to adjust the rear quarters again and not rivitted, just hard plastic straps that wrap around the uprights by the B pillar.
Seals around the window area look just as before, ten seconds to take off but a bugger to get back on. I think that's everything.
Cheers
