Hey @Jlp welcome from me too. Where abouts are you located, there are a couple of members who both went through these type of issues last year and I'm sure they would help with advice if nothing else.:) As previously said once you get the car running well agin you'll soon forget this.

Welcome from Cambridgeshire, hope you get your car sorted. Just to add that although it sounds like you might have a head gasket problem it's not uncommon to see water or steam exiting through an exhaust pipe. This can be just a build up of condensation in the exhaust which can accumulate even more in cold weather if the car does short journeys or the engine is run and turned off before fully warming up. But this would not explain your uneven idling.

Really sound like you're chomping at the bit and I don't blame you. Many of us are, in a sense, in the same boat, in the respect that we can't drive now because of the weather. Here, in New Jersey, there are constant warnings of small snowfalls which sometimes never come, or end up to the west of us in Philly and we don't get anything. The problem with that is they spray down a brine on the road and I don't like driving the Z over it because of the salt content. Sooooo.................. just sit and wait for nice weather. Hope it doesn't take much to get your Zed on the road. Frankie

Thanks tony I've already got one of those cables still keeps comming back link error found a 16 pin connector under steering wheel as well and pluged in but says link error again it's probably the reader as I had problem with abs light on transit van and used this reader and it said no codes but when mechanic pluged his snap on obd reader in it came back with brake pressure switch sorted with new switch £25 so I will have to wait for my mechanic thanks Jason

Glad to hear he's finally going to diagnose the codes. Let us know what he finds, please. JIM

Hi, just my opinion but might be a good time to look for another mechanic. Can't see this fellow sorting things for you. Sorry, JIM

There must be someone close enough to you with a proper tester that can give you a hand. Anyone?? I'm surprised no one has offered, maybe because you had a mechanic coming around. Hang in there, I'm certain you'll get the car running properly again soon. JIM
