Should be more fun yes. We're hoping to have it back this week, then first test next weekend.
The provisional calendar looks like this:
March 28th - Donington Park (750MC Roadsports)
April 18th - Rockingham (360MRC 2 hours, TBC)
May 2nd - Silverstone (750MC Roadsports)
May 10th - Silverstone (CSCC New Millennium)
May 31st - Brands Hatch (CSCC New Millennium)
June 20th - Cadwell Park (750MC Roadsports)
June 26th - 28th - Spa Francorchamps (CSCC New Millennium)
July 12th - Rockingham (CSCC New Millennium)
August 2nd - Snetterton (750MC Roadsports)
August 22nd - Silverstone (750MC Roadsports)
September 6th - Donington (CSCC New Millennium)
September 12th - Silverstone GP (CSCC New Millennium)
October 3rd - Donington (750MC Roadsports)
October 31st - Brands Hatch (CSCC New Millennium Night Race, TBC)
All of the above are minimum 40 minute races, aside from the Rockingham 360MRC race, which we've yet to confirm.
We got our suspension from HSD, and immediately converted to rear to coil over with some custom made spring seats, and upped the spring rates by a good 30 - 40%.
Diagonally its balanced quite evenly on the scales, with the front slightly heavier. The car weighs 1150kg and most of the weight was taken out from behind the centre line of the wheelbase (interior, spare wheel, rear screen etc etc), so naturally the rear needs to be lifted very slightly to put more weight onto it and balance things out.
The rake is more of a result of the aero, as we tried to get the front splitter as close to minimum ride height as possible. The extension built onto the front bumper gives a bit of an optical illusion that makes it looks like we have more rake than there really is.
This actually needs to go up a little for 2015, which is no bad thing as the dampers occasionally reached the bump stops.
The aero keeps it very stable in the high speed stuff, and the balance is completely neutral in slower speed corners.
Do many people on here do track days? We can fit a passenger seat, I have full setup equipment and in a previous life I was a driver coach... All of which sounds like a recipe for a track based get together?
