This is my Magnaflow cat that is about one year old on my 1998 Z3 with M52B28 with extensive modifications to air intake, Schrick cams & custom ECU remap. I always drive gently until the oil temperature is up to normal so by that time the Cat shoud be well up ... I live in Hong Kong, so no long high speed highway driving ... shortish journeys of 30 mins are the norm ... too rich or to be expected? Any comments appreciated . Thanks :)

to be expected, i'd be more concerned with the rust, obviously the welder did not clean and passivate his welds, assuming they are stainless.......

Longer runs should help keep it healthier though

If there is no chance of longer/higher speed running Peter perhaps you should look towards fuel system additive to keep your cat in tip-top shape. Admittedly it may be artificial but the end result is the same - clean and effective cat. We use Forte products at work and they are very good. I don't know if they are available in HK?
