Z3 3.0 Sport
Hello All,

I have to reluctantly sell my 2002 Topaz Blue Z3 3.0 Sport due to unexpected purchase of a Z4 a couple of weeks ago (long story but walked into Sytner Nottingham about my BMW X2 daily driver. I spot a Z4 and the next thing I know is that I am in the sales chair being spun around a dozen times and then signing the dotted line for the Z4 purchase and walking out in a daze  ). So wife has now put foot down and the Z3 has to go despite me offering to buy her a new handbag and shoes !!

Spec:
3.0 M54 engine with autobox
Sport version with blue/black seats
Heated seats
Electric seats
Electric roof
Original Business Radio/tape with its code
Remote central locking
All original tools

Covered 65874 miles all genuine and previous MOT's
3 Previous Owners
Full service history with original leather wallet and booklet
All keys that came with the Z3 when it was new. 3 keys and plastic one.
13 month Premium autoguard warranty remaining that is transferable to private buyer for £35 (peace of mind)

Recently had service at 65819 miles by BMW independent specialist and this included:
Oil and Filter
Gearbox Oil
Differential Oil
Brake fluid
Coolant change
Also had the V belts done x 2 along with handbrake cable change
New rear screen

In March I bought genuine side sills from BMW and had these professionally sprayed and fitted along with wax oil and also wax oil behind the front lower wings.

Front tyres have about 5mm tread rears 4-3mm tread.

Rear screen is also new.

Recently spent in the last 2 months well over £1500 on the Z3 and all receipted.

MOT until March 2020.

HPi clear, no bumps or finance owing etc.

A very good example for the year, does have the odd surface scratch or chip as to be expected for this age of car. A little bit of surface wear on the drivers seat.

For sale at £5500 no offers or will just keep it (owes me £7500 with receipts to prove).

Was on eBay but got messed about. Sick of time wasters and dreamers on eBay. Car is in excellent condition and yes it is an automatic!!

Location Cannock, Staffordshire.

PM me if interested.

Hi Alan

I've only joined the forum today as a newbie so don't think I can PM yet. This looks like just what I'm looking for although I've been searching for a manual. How are the auto boxes on these? My last 2 cars have been DSG (TT) and DCT (E89 Z4) so prefer not to stir the stick now I'm used to the footrest ;) but wasn't sure how the older auto boxes perform. Are they very sporty or more like a traditional auto?

Seems you're not too far from me, I'm in Great Wyrley. Any chance of organising a viewing sometime soon to suit yourself

Cheers
Pete

The Auto boxes are great Pete, my Z4 30i has the Auto + Sport and I love it. Like you, we've had all Auto cars for a good few years now. Shirl has a 2.0 TDI Eos with the DSG. I believe Mike's @mwpe 3.0 is an Auto too?

Tony.

ps. If you click on the box "Quote in conversation" in post #4 it will open a PM with AlanZ

Yes my 3.0 is the first auto I have ever owned, I have driven a few of the old style autos and wouldn't want one but having tried a freinds E46 with this box, I was impressed. It is very relaxing in gentle use but if you want to get a move on just put it in sport. To overtake, you just change down like a manual and it really shifts.

I say wonderful.

No confusion at roundabouts that the DSG suffers from.
Caught me out a few times to begin with

I know what you mean, my E89 had Sport and Sport+, turned it into a real animal. Have heard people say on the Z4Forum that the sport button does nothing on the manual car.

Will try to PM Alan, thanks

Just how I like it, nice easy lazy power in D and flick it across to manual for a bit of fun when the moods takes you

I'm getting excited now, need to change my search criteria to include the Auto

Hello Pete,

Pretty much as the guys have said above the autobox is smooth with this type of engine. Not a lot of difference between this and my BMW daily driver which is one year old and auto. Great if you are stuck in traffic and easy motorway cruising as a positive.
I have sent you a PM.

I like autos, I've got one,but I think I'll stick with the 'stick' in a zed.It just doesn't seem right in a sportscar, but whatever floats your boat.

Sorry to hear that Alan, I'm still interested and would like to come and take a look if possible asap. I'd prefer an auto with my back troubles, my last 2 cars have been DSG and DCT. I test drove a manual last weekend but it wasn't for me.
Cheers
Pete
