Just started having these two (yellow) lights both staying on for one journey, but then both going out on the next.
Any help much appreciated. Many thanks indeed. Tony.

As said a code reader will point you in the right direction.
The ABS system resets itself on ignition as it self tests so in this case the lights may extinguish but the fault code should be logged.

If it's pump related it's usually the electronic module that sits on it. It's a 10min job to change and about £40 secondhand plenty on eBay. The soldered joints inside dry out.

Ideally it should be from the same model Z3 to avoid coding. But most on eBay are off other BMWs. Whilst you can change the module yourself the coding is a bit more difficult and may need a garage to do which could be a £50-£100 job. If you don't do it you succeed in getting rid of the light but are putting yourself at risk of incorrect ABS operation which you won't find out about until you need it.

This is not a diagnosis. Just a heads up before you go to the considerable hassle of changing the pump which we can't be certain is the cause anyway.

I had an intermittent DSC light as Yaw sensor under the passenger seat was sitting under soaking wet sound insulation foam. Have you had any leaks or water in the footwells?

I've got the name somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

Be aware it costs about £200 v £40+coding for secondhand. And that to the best of my knowledge it's not really a refurb. They just open the case up (which wasn't designed to be opened) and look for the dry joints.

Thanks for reply guys have been told it's probably dry joints so not sure wether to have a go myself or buy a refurb unit,I think I could get into the unit with a Dremel and I am quite competent at soldering as I am a bit engineer and we used to solder our joints ( long ago tho )

That's good news. Just remember the other challenge is opening and sealing a plastic case that wasn't meant to be serviced.

Bear in mind also that dry joints aren't always obvious but it sounds like you would know that.

When my ABS and ASC lights were on, the problem turned out to be a faulty front wheel sensor. If it's intermittent it might just be a bit of road dirt or brake dust.
I invested in a BM Cables diagnostic kit that I downloaded onto my laptop only to find that it wouldn't read the ABS module on my pre facelift Z3.
I did a bit of research and found that the most common reason for ABS/ASC problems were faulty wheel sensors. The problem I had was that there is one on each wheel and I needed to find out which one was faulty.
I drew a blank with the diagnostics so decided to take a shot at just changing one at a time. Research told me that the front wheel sensors were the ones most likely to be the culprits.
Next thing was whether to go with OEM parts at £80 each from BMW or £78 each from Euro Car Parts. Worst case, it was going to cost me £320 and that was only if it was a wheel sensor problem.
Being a tight arse, I bought a pair off a German seller on Ebay for £20.50 carriage paid, with a 3yr guarantee too.
I changed the offside front first, went for a test drive and both lights went off within the first 50yds.

Haven't had a problem since, so my repair only cost me £20.50 and I still have a spare sensor.

Hope yours turns out to be just as easy.

Thanks for info am confident my wheel sensors are ok as have had a meter on them and they are all giving me the correct resistance,so it looks like it's the dreaded dry joints in the abs module,so am just making enquiries to get it repaired and costs, not going to be cheap I know.

Which seller was it? These things are notoriously troublesome from 3rd parties so a trusted seller would be useful to know. Especially for the blue DSC sensors.
