Please, if anyone has gone through the following, try and help me>
Was trying to replace an aftermarket/Chinese soft roof, but sadly ended up in a nightmare, not the roof replacement!
while I was trying to remove the old soft top on the rear where the ceiling frame was mounted with 4 x screws It accidentally cracked/snapped the rear plastic frame?
I managed to weld the plastic however, it is water-leaking.................
Has anyone got the idea of reinstalling with a proper Butyl Tape and also need advice on how can I remove the hard-bonded and rotten deposit, please.

Would I be able to buy the plastic ceiling frame?

Much appreciate your comments!!

Sorry. I don't know. But I'd be interested to see pictures of what you broke especially since I'll be replacing my own softtop soon and would like to know what potential pitfalls await me.

Hi The first mark should not be removed at all they have to remain in the rear ceiling with the 4 x screws, the remaining screws must be around 11 or 12 to be removed to take the roof part...=Ref: 2nd picture,
Please take your time it is not that easy to remove the rear part as they are glued up with the butyl tape you gently have to pry from one side to the other.........Please see the fitting also.... Good Luck (This is only applicable to the manual roof MK1)
