No idea but an ex member on here has a 'clear type' i.e. see through, not black, on his ///M.
I can ask him if you like?

The one HT mentions is a clear vinyl wrap, which can be stuck pretty much to any part of the paintwork. I'm not particularly convinced that it would do that much against a large stone, but certainly smaller ones and for the ease for cleaning off bugs it's great.

The alternative is Colgan Z3 Bra, which should fend off some of the larger rocks hitting your car. Doesn't look great though... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Colgan-Fr...-5-2-8-3-0-Roadster-97-02-W-TAG-/361218892505

Put it this way, if you are worried about stone chips, don't drive/use the car.... Simples.....;)

Completely agree with @hard top and @Andy McDonnell , I've seen these on many different cars over in Florida and, granted, they stop the majority of stone damage but only to the front end and they look hideous whatever car they're on. Don't do it, enjoy the beauty of your Z as God intended! :)

I would say a big NO to the bra just let it all out ......

.
On a serous note, I have one for the Triumph, if you have it on in sunny days , no problem

But if it starts to rain or damp in condensation, IT WILL DAMAGE THE PAINT

as the underside has a fleece lining, I have only used it twice.

I had one on a Focus and can concour it will micro blister the paint if you do not remove it due to heat and enclosed moisture.
More damage than a stone chip to be honest.

I used to have the Colgan Bra on our Z3 and they do get very wet on the edges and if left on can cause the damage mentioned above. We used to take ours off after every run then just got fed up on having to keep fitting it on runs out

Awful looking things, but I quite like this one.
