@Paul Morris here's my original steering wheel, mine has the chrome line interior,
I was lucky enough to find a wheel with audio controls on it also from a car with the chrome bits on,
I had this one re-trimmed by Royal's with the extra padding and smooth leather top and bottom with perforated leather at the sides. Unbeleivable difference to the driving experience as anyone who has had one will tell you.
I got the used wheel from a breaker near Doncaster via eBay.

ps. By the way it uses the original airbag and you can get a short cable from BMW to connect into the lights so the switches illuminate when you turn the lights on.
