Hopped in the volvo this morning and did the rounds to Opie oils, halfords, Euro Car parts, wickes and Ocean bmw.

Came back with this

Been busy today, got most of it done, getting an alignment with my new wheels put on kumhos tomorrow.

Testing my new toolbox, still a work in progress...

I'll post pics of the car with new wheels soon I hope. Got a ferry booked for Friday for 10 days cruising on the continent!

If anyone wants a detailed write up of any of the jobs you can see with the parts here fire away.

Also managed to source a good cheap m50 manifold on Gumtree and a bored out TB from ebay, but that'll be a job for after the road trip.

Cheers!
Sam.

Which kumhos are you going for?
Can't remember exactly, I've got a really good local tyre place, real sound guy who knows his stuff recommended them. I'll confirm tomorrow. First time I haven't had goodyear eagle f1s

I do like to see a well organised tool box Sam, I had my arse kicked as an apprentice years ago for not putting things back where they belonged and learnt my lesson. Reason being, " If they're not where they should be, they're not there!"

Agree! I wanted something portable to take out on the drive, this might be a tad small.

This is my organised one!

Yea I would love to, I'm on a bit of a time constraint at the moment though! There is a lot out there online of good guides. I'll refer to anyone interested.

Just getting the old bushes out now, last time I did this I bought new lollipop brackets so I didn't have to do this, well worth it!

Yea, became a bit purist last year and went hand tools only.
That's superb. I recently completed a course of nightclasses and ended up with a trivet.

Though I'm told that if I can make one of those, I can now make a table, a door and a picture frame...!

That's a nice box of quality hand tools - I've only just started to build mine, but have got a lovely Japanese pull saw and...I've just realised that this is probably a conversation for another forum!

Great stuff!

Yea great, show us a picture. I worked on site years ago and do a bit of diy and furniture when there is time. Cleaning up and fettling old tools is very rewarding. The no. 4 plane is made in 1910!
I highly recommend Paul sellers on YouTube. I'm not normally into video teaches but he is really excellent, check it out.

Great job on servicing the Z3 yourself.
l find it is an easy car to work on, l have serviced my 3.0 three times and that included gearbox oil, brake fluid, clutch fluid, spark plugs etc so not just an oil change.
l am sure you will take more care than a garage as well.
l took the opportunity to remove the wheel arch liners and clean/Waxoyl everything.
Saved a fortune, the garage wanted £400 to do a major service. The parts cost me under £100.
