Anyone heard of this before? Found it whilst browsing the Polo forums, and it's alleged to be more effective than the likes of Forte and Redex. It's a bit more expensive than both of those though. The Redex does seem to have made a difference to how well the car is running, so thinking of grabbing some of this in a month or so to try when I flush and change the oil.

Although competitor products do a reasonable job of removing deposits from the fuel system, they do not include the necessary ingredients to completely remove carbon deposits that accumulate over time. At best, they help maintain a cleaner fuel system; the problem being that's it not convenient nor cost effective for you to have to add a cleaner every time you fill your vehicle with fuel.

BG244 is a diesel specific complete fuel system cleaner. It cleans valves, injectors and the combustion chamber of soft and hard baked carbon.

Not sure on all of these additives.

Surely a good ragging and regular oil changes would be more effective

Like you say bit dearer than redex but far better quality seen a couple of the demo's by the reps when we 1st started using it quite impressive.
If you go on their website they do a full range of products for cooling systems etc we only use the ones i have listed above

I won't use any engine type flushing or cleaning stuff ever since using it on a Volvo I had it cleaned out all the carbon and I lost all compression and ended up scrapping the car. A mechanic told me if I wanted to flush an engine to drain oil and put a cheap oil in give car a run then change filter and change oil again for good quality oil. Same with cooling system flush fluids strip every thing out and it will find any week spots and you can end up with leaks. Having said that I did use a flush in the cooling system this time because it was so gunged up with no adverse effects. Oil additives why use them if you use good quality engine oil.
I also use the shell v power fuel which I think burns cleaner and keeps engine carbon deposits down, I certainly found a difference to performance even on my little 1.9.
This is only my opinion and no way a criticism of any one who chooses to use flush or engine additives, each to there own.

I have used it in a couple of Land Rovers and found tended to run smoother after. In Land Rover circles ( where oil draining tends to be a continuous process anyway) it is highly regarded as one of the better additives. My experience though is only of the diesel one.
