Hi all,
Bit of a weird one to raise but I've been noticing more of late people getting in each others face. This has been an age old issue with people on the internet. I'm guessing it's being compounded a bit more at the moment with people being stuck in at home or generally not being able to get out more.
The thing I find humorous about these arguments is that those involved generally don't realise what a massive arse they make themselves look, whilst arguing over something relatively petty.
Whilst I can stop people arguing, in some cases it's generally fine as long as it doesn't get out of hand. I tend to have a stand off moderation policy, however that may change if people don't fall in to line. Thread bans are the obvious method for me to stop the arguing, and then in certain cases a site ban may be levied. So if you find yourself not able to reply in a thread, then you probably need to reflect on the words you use.
Finally for those who end up on the receiving end of unwanted commentary, then please feel free to use the "Ignore" feature. They can't see you, you can't see them. Harmony restored. Sadly doesn't work against admins, and I have to see everything (sigh).
Play nice, no one likes a keyboard warrior.
