Hi,

My car has beige leather with snakeskin panels. A VIN decode says "Oregon/Beige E36 Sandbeige E3 (R5SN)"

There are no splits but wear on the driver's wing in the usual place and the stress lines are wearing thin.

Does anyone know of a good DIY paint/treatment system to save it from splitting and to re-colour scratches?

I have found Gliptone Leathercare a great source for leather cleaning/colouring products. Have a look at their website.

Liquid leather is the product most use. There is a thread myself and @Antm72 ran when we did ours. I'll see if I can dig it out. Here's some pics for now..
Started because of this and ended up with this!

I as you can see ended up changing the whole colour as I don't like the dappled effect on the leather and it help disguise it somewhat. @Antm72 will be able to enlight you on colours better than me. He'll be along later I'm sure.

I use Furniture Clinic. This is their beige used to recolour black. It’s a spray system but extremely easy to use.

Thanks Grumps, I've found your and Antm72's threads on the seats but I have
another query.
The leather is quoted as Oregon/Beige E36 and Sandbeige E3 (R5SN)
Does one shade refer to the main colour and the other to the mottled panels, and which is which?
And are there lighter/darker shades of these or do the codes only have one shade as I imagine they should?

I changed my colour so unsure of the correct code. You get Sandbeige and then 1,2,3 for example. I believe if you go to bmw archive and put the last 7 digits of your chassis number in it will give you your complete build and spec list from new inc the interior codes.

Thanks Grumps but thats how I got the info' in the first line of my post.
The one that you mention doesn't now have a live decoder, just an explanation of what it all means.
The info' above was got from bmwvindecoder, I tried mdecoder and got exactly the same info'.
I think that this is the best that Ill get but where 2 shades are stated as with mine I can't get any info' about exactly what they relate to.

Tried using Furniture Clinic Oregon Beige on my drivers seat bolster few scuffs just like Grumps. Very dissapointed, it was far too light and looked awful, had to scrub it off. What was the actual product you used Grumps from Liquid Leather yours looks perfect using their products.
Seems to me the bolster colour must be Sand beige which is not listed in Furniture Clinic site, the Oregon Beige I tried is for the lighter beige as on the gear lever gaitor.
